Look at this. It’s Jonathan Wilkes being interviewed in the MEN about his role in the musical theatre version of The Wedding Singer. I really love musicals, especially those based on moderately entertaining late-1990s Adam Sandler movies that made very little mark on the public consciousness. So I was keen to read this insightful piece.
You may remember Wilkes. He became famous some years ago for being friends with Robbie Williams and subsequently snagged a brief career as a TV presenter. I’m pleased to see he’s developed his own identity since then and has moved away from being a tedious name-dropper. Here he is, talking about the opening night of the musical.
Lots of my mates have promised that they’re going to turn up. Ant and Dec are hoping to be there, as well as the wonderful Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness. The lovely Kim Ryder, from Coronation Street, is another friend who has promised to come and, as her husband Jack Ryder is on tour with a play, he may be able to join her at the party afterwards. Then of course my best mate Robbie Williams always tries to come to all my first nights – so who knows?
Who knows indeed, Jonny? Who, quite literally, knows?
I also saw a piece in the Stockport Times West (delivered free across Stockport, with lots of advertising inserts for Farmfoods), where Wilkes says he would like to see the death penalty brought back. He really comes across as a fun guy.

What a sad cunt.
I think you should go along and review the show for (both of) us Words Dept fans.
