Beware of the fish (seller)

I stumbled across this press release from Edinburgh council today. It made me snigger like a child:

Fish merchants have recently been making unsolicited calls on residents in the Inverleith area. Two men who have been calling on homes in the area are described as having North East English accents and were wearing jumpers with ‘North Eastern Fisheries’ embroidered on them…

…The fish may have use-by dates which have been concealed or even removed, and the species of fish may be incorrect, for example Vietnamese catfish has in the past been sold as monkfish in other parts of the country…

…Anyone who has been or is approached by unknown individuals selling fish on the doorstep is requested to immediately contact Environmental Health Officers in Services for Communities on 0131 529 3030.

Bloody English and their dodgy fish. Expect a sudden surge in support for Scottish independence.

I’d like to make it clear that I’ve never been to Inverleith.
