Gordon Burns’ sofa trauma

There seems to have been a mishap of some sort on the set of North West Tonight. It looks like it’s being broadcast from BBC’s Oxford Road reception area. The big screen has been replaced by what appears to be an Argos special offer £349 flatscreen telly and Gordon Burns, on his cheap red sofa, looks like he should be waiting for a dental appointment, rather than reading the news.
Poor Gordon. I’ve never seen a man looking so uncomfortable sitting on a sofa. Give the man his chair and desk back, for Christ’s sake. And what’s with the camera angle? It looks like it’s positioned on an upturned plant pot.
Hopefully the “proper” redesign, which premieres on Monday, will be better than this. God, I can hardly wait to find out…
