I’ve noticed that almost all TV producers are now frantically admitting to faking bits of reality shows lest one of the tabloids rumbles them first. The latest is one Simon Cowell (never heard of him), who says he staged a bit of the new series of X-Factor. Apparently, a scene where Cowell discusses rehiring Louis Walsh was filmed months after the decision was originally made.
Reassuringly, ITV says: “We tell stories, we don’t tell lies.”
Who’da thowt it?

Oh the shock and horror. They also gloss over the fact that the judges don’t actually see all the auditionees – they are vetted by production staff who only let in the really good, really crap and mental by the looks of it. It’s a con I tell ye.
More shocking developments while you’ve been away hopefully getting sunburnt and pissed in true Brit style: the BBC has been caught out faking the winning name of the new Blue Peter kitten. Apparently the one the viewers gave the most votes to wasn’t deemed suitable…
When will it end???
